The company, with its patented invention “Mixture of hyaluronic acid for treating and preventing inflammatory bowel disease”, participated in the 2020 National Invention and Creation Awards, organized by the Intellectual Property Office of Ministry of Economic Affairs of R.O.C., and received a silver award in Invention Awards.

Utilizing the patented technology, the company’s medical device, TRUD®, has been proven through clinical trials to effectively relieve the discomfort of patients with inflammatory bowel disease and improve the complete recovery rate of ulcers. The product has received a CE certificate and has been marketed in the EU since 2016.

Moreover, by applying the patented technology, the company has established the Hyaluronan Drug Delivery System (HDD) and developed a new drug with a new dosage form/new fixed-dose combination, IBD98-M. It is a mixture of hyaluronic acid and the first-line drug of inflammatory bowel disease. With the controlled-release formulation of HDD, we are able to deliver the drug and release it at the inflamed site in the colon, which significantly increases the local concentration of the drug, and prolongs the action time of the drug at the inflamed site. So far, IBD98-M has completed the Phase IIa clinical trial.
